Gruff Rhys has announced plans for a fresh tour of the UK in October via his 'News Drip' service.

After a flood of obscure but rewarding side projects, it has been nice to see Gruff Rhys focus on what he does best. Released earlier this year, 'Hotel Shampoo' is an album of un-ashamed psych pop.

Containing the Welsh artist's usual flurry of unique characteristics, the album was launched in a Blackpool hotel. Shooting off around the country, Gruff Rhys has played a number of warmly received shows.

Heading off to the continent and beyond, Gruff Rhys is looking ahead to a summer of live performances. Keeping fans on their toes, the singer has now confirmed a nationwide tour this Autumn.

Opening in Llandudno on October 2nd, the tour dates continue with shows in Edinburgh, Middlesborough, Reading and more. Ending in Ashford, the tour contains a one off show in London on October 12th in Shepherds Bush Empire.

Joined by Welsh surf outfit Y Niwl, the singer will play shows across the country. The announcement was made via the Gruff Rhys 'News Drip' service, which launched at the tail end of last week.

A news service for fans, the 'good news only' policy ensures that you will get some entertainingly bizarre (but true) stories. As a special bonus, subscribers to the 'News Drip' service will take part in a pre-sale for the October tour this Wednesday (October 25th).

In a third strike for the Welsh talent new single 'Honey All Over' is out today (May 23rd). Taken from his recent album, Gruff Rhys has included the special bonus track 'Xenodocheionology'.
