Green Man Sold Out

No tickets left for Welsh event

Welsh wyrd folk event Green Man has sold out once again, with the festival due to begin this weekend.

Green Man began life as the bran-child of twee-folk duo It's Jo And Danny. A celebration of all things acoustic, it quickly out grew its original home. Now taking place in the stunning Brecon Beacons, this year's event promises to be the best yet.

Earlier this year organisers bussed in druids straight from Stonehenge in order to perform a celtic blessing on the site. Assured of good weather, it is more than just a coincidence that the weather reports suggest a heatwave is due to hit Britain.

Unleashing a torrent of talent on the unsuspecting public, this year's event contains some very special performances. American group Animal Collective are set to play their only British festival set of the summer, alongside a number of top acts.

Fellow headliners Jarvis Cocker needs no introduction, having helped define British guitar pop in the 90s with Pulp. Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds off-shoot The Dirty Three are due to perform, alongside an original 60s legend.

Roky Erikson led Texan pioneers The 13th Floor Elevators, who raised drug use to spiritual levels. However the band disintegrated following police intrusion, with two members later spending time in mental institutions.

With campers already arriving, some have taken advantage of the event's new Holiday ticket. Basking in the Welsh sun early arrivals relaxed in the newly named Holiday Inn, pondering what surprises organisers have up their sleeves this year.

A new addition to the site is the drinks license, which now runs for a marathon 24 hours. Running alongside this are a number of extra events, such as the festival's biggest ever comedy, literature and film line-ups and a massive kids area.

Green Man is due to take place between August 22nd - 24th. Tickets are sold out!
