Green Day In Myspace Show

Cali punks for intimate gig

Returning megastar punk icons Green Day are set to play a very special show which will be broadcast on the social networking site Myspace.

Green Day are back. Nearly five years on from their award winning, chart slaying, career reviving album 'American Idiot' the Californian punk stars are ready to unleash their latest album.

Still brimming with youthful energy, Green Day recently announced they would be re-issuing their early (pre-'Dookie') albums on heavyweight vinyl. Teasing fans with rumours and hints, the group finally confirmed earlier this year that their new album '21st Century Breakdown' would be released soon.

A concept album split into three parts, '21st Century Breakdown' is a blast at modern America which has suddenly found itself out of step after the United States elected a progressive, African-American president.

Ah well, at least the fans will like it. The album has already provoked extreme responses, click HERE to read our view! Those of a sensitive nature look away now...

The band recently announced a massive stadium tour of Britain. Playing three nights at Wembley Stadium in London alone, the group will perform before hundreds of thousands of people in just a few weeks.

However Green Day are also set to play a free concert for just 300 fans in New York. Taking place only a few days after '21st Century Breakdown' is released, the show only be open to fans who win tickets in an online competition.

Fans who won't be able to make the show - and there will be millions of those - will be able to watch a broadcast of the show on Myspace Music shortly afterwards.
