Gorillaz Songs Aired

Gorillaz and Blur songwriter Damon Albarn has aired three new songs during a stint on Radio 1 standing in as a DJ for Zane Lowe, it has been announced.

With Albarn busy working on his new opera 'Monkey: Journey To The West' it was thought that Gorillaz would remain on the sidelines. However, the ever-productive songwriter has gone back in the studio and emerged with three new demos.

'Binge', 'Electric Shock' and 'Broken' were all played as Damon Albarn took over Radio 1. The songs were a notable departure from previous Gorillaz material, leading the songwriter to comment:

"I keep changing - it's not finished by any means,” he said. "It's really hard to know when something's done - if I haven't got it right I'll throw it away."

Albarn did not give a title for the new album.
