Good Times New Year Party Announced

Turntable icon Norman Jay is set to host a very special warehouse party on New Year's Eve.

London's underground club scene has spawned many heroes. From the days of Ronnie Scott's illicit jazz sessions to the emerging funky house scene the capital's nightlife has twisted and evolved into many shapes.

However a few founding fathers remain one whose shoulders rest an admirable legacy. One of the most influential DJs in the country, Norman Jay has dominated dancefloors for almost thirty years.

Beginning life as a young jazz-funk and disco fan, Norman Jay ran with Tottenham Hotspur before becoming a full time DJ. In touch with the streets, Jay has always had his finger on the pulse mixing up a heady brew of reggae, soul, funk, disco, house and more.

Running some now iconic warehouse parties in the 80s, Norman Jay helped to keep the underground running free in the dark days of Thatcherism. A stint on Kiss FM followed, before disagreements over the musical policy led to Norman Jay leaving for pastures new.

With his annual appearance at the Notting Hill now the stuff of legends, Norman Jay was recently given an MBE - making his The Queen's own beat merchant!

The DJ icon is set to host a massive legal party in London on New Year's Eve. The Good Times Soundsystem will take pride of place in the December 31st event, held in a disused car park in one of London's original warehouse locations somewhere in EC2.

Fully licensed with room for over 1400 people this looks to be a stunning way to enter 2010. Hosted in co-operation with new computer game DJ Hero, this new event promises to be one of London's wildest parties on New Year's Eve.
