Glasvegas Secret Glasgow Show

New show confirmed

Gloomy Scottish rockers Glasvegas have confirmed details of a secret show in their hometown of Glasgow tonight (September 1st).

Glasvegas emerged from the ever creative Glasgow indie scene to conquer the country. The band moved from their punk origins to forge a new sound equally indebted to Phil Spector and the Jesus And Mary Chain.

Releasing a string of singles the band were snapped up by a major label before releasing their debut album last year. Acclaimed by critics as a stunning new voice Glasvegas' live shows quickly became celebrations for a group whose material was drawn from everyday life.

Following this with a special Christmas EP, Glasvegas are currently working on a string of new songs. However the band are set to break cover with a new show in their hometown tonight (Setember 1st).

Announced via the social networking tool Twitter the band confirmed that they will be playing Glasgow tonight - but claimed the gig would take place in an unconventional venue. Speaking about the show, singer James Allan claimed it would reflect the reasons he got involved in rock 'n' roll in the first place.

"When I first got involved in art, creativity and rock 'n' roll was always my world," he explained. "The door is always open for alternative like-minded thinkers who desire or are simply curious to be a part of it."

"I guess sometimes along the beaten track I've fallen love with kids with a similar passion, soul and limitless imaginations. I asked them on a date (the gig), and if anyone wants to join us and be part of our world tonight then we would be as happy as Larry if they do. You never know, you might even dance."

Glasvegas recently played a storming set at Leeds festival on Friday (August 28th). The band are expected to reveal more details about the show via their Twitter page tonight (September 1st).
