Glasvegas Album Race
Metallica Close In On Scots
Scots epic rockers Glasvegas are battling neck and neck with metal legends Metallica for pole position in this week's album charts, with the result too close to call.
The Scots band released their much hyped debut album this week, with their live shows demonstrating a religious fervor. Singles "Daddy's Gone" and "Geraldine" have established the group as chart contenders, and their show at T In The Park this summer saw fans driven wild by a truly epic set.
Metallica are returning after a lengthy hiatus mainly brought about by the critical mauling afforded to previous album "St. Anger". Lauded as a return to form new long player "Death Magnetic" is also released this week, and is currenlty battling Glasvegas for top spot.
Bookmakers Ladbrokes have made the Scots favourites to claim the prize, with Glasvegas currently sitting at 4/7 - Metallica meanwhile are at 5/4.
