Glasvegas / Primal Scream Team Up

Rumours surround Scots rockers

Gloomy Scottish rockers Glasvegas could be set for a collaboration with Primal Scream frontman Bobby Gillespie.

Emerging from Scotland clutching handfuls of ready made anthems, Glasvegas tore through the British indie scene in 2008. A series of incendiary gigs and stunning singles set the group up for their critically acclaimed debut album, undoubtedly one of the most significant releases of last year.

Frontman James Allan could be due to duet with Primal Scream singer Bobby Gillespie, if rumours are to be believed. Apparently Gillespie has heard that Allan is a fan of legendary New York synth-punks Suicide, and the two may record a cover. The song would appear on the series of EP's scheduled to mark Suicide mainman Alna Vega's 70th birthday.

Amongst the other artists who have contributed to the series are a variety of dance and punk acts, as well as a stunning version of 'Dream Baby Dream' recorded by Bruce Springsteen.

A report in the NME confirms that the duet could happen with Allan saying "I don't know yet if it'll happen but I hope it does because I really respect the band".
