Girlhood’s ‘My Boy’ Is Addictive Yet Impossible To Identify

Curious home-spun dance-pop from a London narrow boat...

Girlhood were born out of frustration, out of broken hearts and a broken leg.

The duo – Christian Pinchbeck and Tessa Cavanna – came together following previous failed projects, working on Christian's narrow boat on the Regents Canal.

Allowing their minds to drift, the duo began fusing late 80s hip-hop to straight up pop music, delivered in a haphazard, lo-fi fashion.

Debut single 'My Boy' is totally addictive, an endearingly ramshackle dance pop jammer that recalls those early ESG cuts yet re-cast in an English light.

Out on November 1st via Team Talk Records, you can dive in below.
