Gilles Peterson's Worldwide awards are set to return to London venue KOKO on February 10th.
Through his lengthy career as DJ, promoter, label owner and taste maker, Gilles Peterson has always sought out new talent, new sounds. The annual Worldwide awards aim to showcase this, with the event returning to London's KOKO venue on February 10th.
Joining Gilles Peterson will be some of the most probing, exciting talent from the UK and beyond. Sunday Best signing Valerie June plies a fine line in country-soul, with her down home feeling matched to an intensity which can only come from studying the blues.
Elsewhere, Butterz cohort and Deep Medi signing Swindle is set to take his jazz inflected grime sound to KOKO. The producer released his debut LP earlier this year, and will perform live at the Worldwide awards with Terri Walker.
Scandinavian avant jazz icon Jimi Tenor is due to appear, with the Worldwide awards also set to welcome Ady Suleiman, Andrew Ashong, Los Angeles based rapper/producer Jonwayne and more. More acts will be announced over the coming weeks.

The Worldwide Awards take place on February 10th.
