German singer Get Well Soon is set to release his new single on August 11th, the curiously titled "If This Hat Is Missing, I Have Gone Hunting".
Signed to City Slang, Get Well Soon is the musical vision of 25 year old German artist Konstantin Gropper. Two years in the making, the self-produced debut album "Rest Now, Weary Head! You Will Get Well Soon" was an immediate cult success, even entering the German Top 30. Not bad for an album recorded entirely in his flat!
Orchestral pop in the vein of Van Dyke Parks, Get Well Soon is grandiose without being over-the-top and emotive without straying into schmaltz. The singer has two songs in the latest Wim Wenders movie, "The Palermo Shooting", which will no doubt boost his profile still further. The soundtrack to the new movie also boasts tracks by Nick Cave's Grinderman project and Portishead.
