New York group sign to 4AD

New York group Gang Gang Dance are preparing to release their new album later in the year.
Brooklyn has emerged as one of the most potent musical areas on the planet. A series of bands from the city has released a string of acclaimed albums, with groups such as Animal Collective and TV On The Radio topping critical polls (hello!).
Hailing from Brooklyn, Gang Gang Dance merge R&B with left field alt rock. Blending the beats of Timbaland with Radiohead's experimental approach, the band have become a cult proposition.
Debut album 'Revival Of The Shittest' has been followed by a string of releases, with Gang Gang Dance honing their absurdist pop skills. Snapped up by Warp Records, 2008's 'Saint Dymphna' saw the band reach a much wider audience.
Taking on board elements of post punk and modern UK underground sounds, Gang Gang Dance even teamed up with a pre-fame Tynchy Stryder for the avant grime track 'Princes'. Following this with last year's 'First Communion' EP the band have continually pushed expectations of what they can achieve.
One of the most groundbreaking groups of their generation, Gang Gang Dance have almost finished work on a follow up album. Retreating to their Brooklyn rehearsal room, the band have been negotiating with labels for the release of the material.
Snapped up by indie rock powerhouse 4AD Gang Gang Dance are set to release new material later this year. Meanwhile, the band are offering the Hot Chip remix of 'House Jam' to fans for free.
