Punk group launch own label

Gallows have begun work on a new album, which will be released through their own label.

For Gallows, 2011 was a year of set backs and rejuvenation. Frontman Frank Carter decided to leave, launching his new project Pure Love in the process.

Deciding to continue, Gallows recruited the iron throat of Canadian singer Wade MacNeil. Heading straight into the studio, the incendiary Hardcore types have outlined plans for a new album.

Working with old Watford friends Steve Sears and Thomas Mitchener in a local studio, Gallows are maintaining a firm grasp on their roots. Setting aside 2012 to focus on new material, the band have also confirmed plans to launch their own label.

Gallows will helm VENN Records, with the band set to operate in collaboration with PIAS Recordings. "For the last seven years we have trudged step by step through the dark sewers of music industry,” the band said in a statement.

“Shaking hands with snakes and signing contracts drafted by thieves with perfect teeth. We are happy to announce that we have become part of the problem. All hail Venn Records.”

Looking ahead, Gallows have confirmed a number of live appearances. The band will perform at Reading and Leeds this summer, alongside sets at Slam Dunk Festival, Download and more.
