Friendly Fires Talk Foals Support

Collaboration Rumors Emerge

St. Albans shoegazing group Friendly Fires have discussed their recent European tour in support of math-rockers Foals, and have suggested that a collaboration could be in the pipeline.

The group released their celebrated self-titled album earlier this year, a stunning blend of distorted guitars and dreamy melodies. Friendly Fires are currently on a European tour with Foals, and singer Ed MacFarlane is apparently keen on the prospect of hooking up with the Oxford group.

Speaking to BBC 6Music he said “I really like them, I think live they are an amazing band. We played with them numerous times before and they are also thoroughly lovely chaps so I think it’ll be good."

“Maybe on one of the shows we could do a live thing where we both sort of play a load of synths on one of their tracks."

“I think it would be good if they were up for it. If they are listening, yeah, we wanna do a jam.”

Foals recently toured with Canadian synth-manglers Holy Fuck, and released a split seven inch with each act covering one of the other's songs.
