Free UK Gigs this week

Clash's credit crunch guide to gigging

A whole host of free shows are set to take place in the coming days, with the god of goth Marilyn Manson set for a signing session, Little Boots hitting Newcastle for a lunchtime show today and epic-indie newcomers Fanfarlo set to tear the roof off Rough Trade in London tonight, plus loads more.

So, if the recession has had your wallet in an eternal clampdown for the past few months, fear not, at least you can go and watch Little Boots on your lunchbreak or make faces at Marilyn Manson as he entertains an army of kohl-eyed teens.

The round-up of shows will kick-off with Little Boots, who will hit HMV in Newcastle at 1pm today, with her new album 'Hands' set for release next week (full Clash review HERE).

Scottish stadium sleighers Simple Minds are also set to make an appearance in Glasgow today at 3pm, with a free session in the City's HMV store.

Tomorrow will see the return of one-man slacker hero Wavves (Clash interview HERE), who is set to play London Rough Trade at 7pm.

Shock rocker Marilyn Manson will then do an in-store signing session at the Oxford Street HMV in London on Thursday (28th), ahead of the release of his new album 'The High End Of Low'.
