Franz Ferdinand Glasonbury Rumours
Band hint at festival appearance
Scottish indie gentry Franz Ferdinand could be set to play this year's Glastonbury festival.
Franz Ferdinand are back! How long have we waited to hear those words? In the years since 'You Could Have It So Much Better' the group have been sorely missed, returning on Monday (January 25th) with their new album 'Tonight: Franz Ferdinand'.
Ambitious, eclectic and thoroughly brilliant, the new album is not as immediate as their previous records but every bit as thrilling.
The band launched the album with a very special in-store appearance at HMV's flagship store on Oxford Street, London. Playing a short set the group seemed on good form, staying with fans to answer questions and sign autographs.
Asked about their summer plans, bassist Bob Hardy replied "we'll probably play Glastonbury".
Glastonbury organiser Michael Eavis has previously stated that Glastonbury will have four headliners this year, with two being from the United States and two being British. Aside from Franz Ferdinand, acts rumoured to be performing are Neil Young and Bruce Springsteen.
