Foo Fighters Best Of Tracklisting

Dave Grohl looks back

Enormously successful American rockers Foo Fighters are set to launch their new 'Greatest Hits' album in the United States on November 2nd.

Dave Grohl may not have been Nirvana's first drummer, but his contribution to their music propelled the band into the upper echelons of rock music. Want some evidence? Imagine 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' without his drum crack at the beginning.

Emerging as a talented songwriter in his own right towards the tail end of the band's career, Dave Grohl was left shattered by Kurt Cobain's suicide. Retreating to the studio he began demoing material for a new project.

Released under the name Foo Fighters the band's self-titled debut album was recorded almost entirely by Grohl himself. Containing some powerful and anthemic songwriting the album was hailed by critics as an individual new voice.

Since then, Foo Fighters have gone on to become one of the world's biggest rock bands. Last album 'Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace' saw the band branch out, including acoustic balladry alongside familiar rockers.

Going on hiatus, the members of Foo Fighters have been indulging in different projects. Currently Dave Grohl is working as the drummer in Those Crooked Vultures alongside Josh Homme and John Paul Jones.

Now the band are set to look back with the release of a new 'Greatest Hits'. Containing a selection of songs from Foo Fighters career, the album will be available as a standard edition as well as a deluxe edition released with a 28-page book of never before seen photos and a bonus DVD.
