Flying Lotus / Thom Yorke Team Up
New recordings could surface
Los Angeles based producer Flying Lotus has spoken about his plans for future collaboration with Radiohead singer Thom Yorke.
Flying Lotus is one of the most influential producers on the planet. Merging skittering electronica with Stones Throw style hip hop, the Los Angeles beatsmith has even taken on board the bass heavy sounds of Britain’s dubstep scene.
Attracting the attention of Radiohead singer Thom Yorke, the pair have collaborated on a track which is set to feature on the producer’s new album ‘Cosmogramma’.
An otherworldly collection, the album could be followed by further collaboration between the twin talents. “I woke up to an e-mail,” he told 6 Music news. “It was after I had a dream that me and Thom Yorke were at a grocery store together, and I woke up to that shortly after.”
“It’s weird, him and I. We were born on the same day and we keep having these strange but really positive meetings. Now we’ve done this song on my record and I only wonder what’s going to happen next.”
Flying Lotus has been chosen as the main tour support on Thom Yorke’s forthcoming solo tour ‘Atoms Of Peace’. The producer claimed that he could be set to work with the Radiohead singer again, but refused to be drawn on any details.
“I might make a contribution or two to the next Thom Yorke album,” Flying Lotus said. “Maybe do a remix or something. We’ll see. I don’t want to jump the gun or anything but I think it’s going to keep going.”
