Flying Lotus is set to play two extremely distinct shows at this summer's instalment of Sonar.

Flying Lotus began his career making hip hop. Note the past tense - the music that the Los Angeles producer is currently responsible lacks any kind of genre name or stylistic definition.

Currently working on fresh material, a new album is widely rumoured to be in the works. Set to appear at Sonar this summer, Flying Lotus has agreed to perform two separate - and quite distinct - sets.

The producer will headline a showcase for his own Brainfeeder imprint, before later playing at the SonarDôme stage curated by Red Bull Music Academy.

Part of a new wave of announcements, Flying Lotus will be joined by a typically diverse array of artists. Trust, Star Slinger and Russia's Nina Kraviz are amongst the newcomers scheduled to perform at Sonar, with the festival also revealing a few one offs.

New collective Mostly Robot are set to appear at the festival. Jamie Lidell, Tim Exile, Jeremy Ellis, DJ Shiftee and Mister Jimmy will play live together, while audio visual collective Pfadfinderei will supply a backdrop.

Electronic music crafted in the spirit of jazz, Mostly Robot have yet to official release any material making this performance extra special.

Elsewhere, Sonar will play host to Simian Mobile Disco who are busy preparing their new album 'Unpatterns' for release. Really coming to life in the live arena, Jaz Shaw and James Ford will mix fresh material with some of their crowd pleasing favourites.

Sonar runs between June 14th - 16th. New additions:
