Florence & The Machine have announced a series of massive UK shows for early next year.
In the end, 'Ceremonials' was an unqualified commercial success. Florence & The Machine smashed into the UK charts at number one, while the album also went Top Ten on the Stateside countdown.
In just two weeks more than a million copies of 'Ceremonials' were sold around the world, proving the pulling power of Florence & The Machine. Now the band are set to connect with their audience after confirming plans for a lengthy tour in Spring 2012.
The shows are definitely a step up for the singer, reflecting the enormous boost to her popularity which 'Ceremonials' has provided. The first tour from Florence Welch since 2010's 'Cosmic Love' shows, the upcoming concerts will be typically lavish.
Opening in Dublin on March 2nd, Florence & The Machine hit the UK with a show in Bournemouth SIC on March 4th.
Playing Cardiff's Motorpoint Arena, the group will then focus on back-to-back nights in London. Taking place at Alexandra Palace, the March 8th and 9th shows are the largest headline dates Florence Welch has yet played in the capital.
Hitting Glasgow on March 12th, Florence & The Machine will perform at the city's SECC venue before the tour ends on March 16th with a one off show in Newcastle at the Metro Radio Arena.
The Horrors are set to provide main support on the tour, with Spector due to open each show apart from the March 9th show in London where Theme Park will take to the stage.
A special Amex pre-sale for tickets opens today (November 21st) before a more general pre-sale begins on Wednesday (November 23rd).
Tickets go on general sale this Friday (November 25th).
