Florence And The Machine On New Album
Change in producer mooted
Brit award winning newcomers Florence And The Machine aren't letting a second go to waste, beginning plans on their new album.
Formed by flame haired singer Florence Welch, Florence And The Machine emerged as a fully formed hit making machine. Given a Brit award before their debut album had even been released, their effortless climb masked years of hard work.
Recording their debut album with Paul Epworth and James Ford, the group could not have been in better hands. Spawning several festival anthems this summer saw Florence And The Machine break through to the mainstream.
Never ones to let the grass grow under their feet, Florence And The Machine have confirmed that they are working on their second album. Speaking to BBC 6Music lead singer Florence Welch claimed that the group could use more than one producer.
"I think I would like to go and work with quite a few people, do loads of demos and then probably record it with just one person," she revealed.
"The first album was a real experiment," the singer continued. "I’d like to have one that’s more of a whole. The Lungs album was kind of a scrap book about all the different things I was getting excited about from moment to moment."
Florence Welch went on to claim that she has managed to find time to write songs even while on tour. "I’ve almost been doodling songs, having little phrases and ideas going around and they keep popping up in sound checks," she said.
"I’ve got a lot of ideas floating around and I think I’ve got an idea of how I want to do it as well."
Florence And The Machine are set to open 2010 with a tour of Australia before returning to the UK to begin work on their second album.
