Fleetwood Mac could be set to release new material in January, according to Stevie Nicks.
Stevie Nicks has been on fighting form of late. The iconic singer has been doing a number of interviews, and recently informed the Huffington Post that Fleetwood Mac would be heading back out on the road next year for a world tour.
Thus far, only North American shows have been confirmed but fans are keeping their fingers crossed for some Europe-centric announcements. Now Stevie Nicks has again dropped another bombshell, with the news that fresh material could be on the way.
Fleetwood Mac have seemingly been in the studio, with Stevie Nicks hinting that new material could be released in January.
Chatting with Billboard, the singer explained that ”we’re so completely bummed out with the state of the music industry and the fact that nobody even wants a full record,” before continuing: “Everybody wants two songs, so we’re going to give them two songs.” “We wanted to have something to put out before we go out, January or February, in whatever way you do that – iTunes or something”, the singer said.
“And since nobody really cares about albums anymore, if you can come up with two or three great songs and just put them out there…people can at least hear how we sound today when it comes to actually recording.”
Going even further, Stevie Nicks gave two working song titles - ‘Sad Angela’ and ‘Miss Fantasy’ - which date from sessions earlier this year, while a third "Buckingham- Nicks song”, dates further back.
