Fleet Foxes Side Project
Singer launches new project
Fleet Foxes singer Robin Pecknold has launched a new Myspace page containing new recordings by the singer.
Fleet Foxes were one of the more surprising success stories in 2008. Their self titled debut album crept up the charts with the minimum of media attention, seemingly propelled by word of mouth attention.
The band's soothing blend of Americana influences became one of the year's musical highpoints, and demand is high for new material. Ever creative singer Robin Pecknold has started a new Myspace page that contains two new recordings.
Titled White Antelope, the group aren't quite a solo project as they will remain attached to Fleet Foxes. In fact, forthcoming seven inch 'Mykonos' will contain a new track by White Antelope titled 'False Night On The Road'.
The project will apparently be ongoing, but will focus on cover versions rather than crafting new material.
In other Fleet Foxes news, a new expanded edition of the debut album will be released in the UK soon. Amongst the new material added will be the White Antelopes track 'False Night Of The Road'.
