Flaming Lips Secret Hollywood Show

Psychedelic Oklahoma types The Flaming Lips are due to celebrate the release of their new album 'Embryonic' with a special show in Hollywood.

It almost goes without saying that The Flaming Lips are a spectacular live act. Capable of blending euphoric psych-pop with a singer who frequently rolls out onstage in a giant bubble, the group are one of the most in demand on the planet.

This year The Flaming Lips kept festival appearances to a minimum, although they did agree to headline Scotland's RockNess event. Performing in the beautiful countryside setting the band were joined by a series of dancing teletubbies.

Since then the band have unveiled their most experimental album in almost a decade. 'Embryonic' recalls The Flaming Lips' love of Krautrock and psychedelic music, ignoring their recent song based escapades.

The Flaming Lips are set to launch 'Embryonic' with a special show in Hollywood, California on Thursday (October 15th). Taking place in the Ricardo Montalban Theatre, tickets will be available for free.

To attend, fans should grab a ticket from a 'pop up' store at the venue, while briefs will also be available from Amoeba Records.

Meanwhile, The Flaming Lips have confirmed a series of UK tour dates. The band are due to open their tour with a show at London's Troxy venue before heading out into the regions.

Finishing with a spectacular show at Birmingham's O2 Academy, The Flaming Lips can be guaranteed to have a few surprises up their sleeves. The band have confirmed the following dates:
