Flaming Lips Cover Madonna
On new Warner Bros. album
Ohio psychedelic oddballs Flaming Lips are set to cover Madonna's classic track 'Borderline' on forthcoming album 'Covered, A Revolution In Sound' available on February 24th.
The new covers album features Warner Brothers acts taking on each others songs. With material from past and present, both well known and unique, this extremely varied album has some moments of absolute genius.
Akron blues duo Black Keys take on Captain Beefheart's track 'Her Eyes Are A Blue Million Miles' in one of the album's more straight forward covers - the group have previously recorded the good Captain's song 'Grown So Ugly'.
Elsewhere on the album The Used cover Talking Heads while Missy Higgins covers Roxy Music's 'More Than This'. Perhaps the most bizarre cover is comedian Adam Sandler's version of the Neil Young classic 'Like A Hurricane'.
Regularly stretched to over twenty minutes in his live sets, Neil Young's song is one of the best loved in his prestigious canon. Sandler decides to take on the classic nonetheless, with the result due to air soon.
'Covers, A Revolution In Sound' is due to be released on February 24th.
