First Names For Yoko Ono’s Meltdown

Iggy and the Stooges, Immortal Technique, Patti Smith, Savages...

The first names on the line up for Yoko Ono's Meltdown have been unveiled.

Taking control of the Southbank Centre, Meltdown is an annual exploration of the arts. Inviting prominent figures to curate a deeply personal line up, the results are always worth catching.

Toasting her 80th birthday, Yoko Ono is set to take control of this year's Meltdown. Running between June 14th – 23rd, the Japanese artist follows in the footsteps of previous curators Morrissey, Antony, David Bowie and more.

This morning, the first names on the line up were confirmed. Iggy & The Stooges will perform, while punk icon (and former Clash cover star) Patti Smith is also set to appear at the Southbank Centre.

Kim Gordon’s Body/Head project are set to take part, while newcomers Savages are due to travel to the event. Electro filth vixen Peaches has been booked, with Ryuichi Sakamoto, Immortal Technique, Cibo Matto and Boy George all taking part.

Tickets go on sale to all at 10am next Wednesday (April 11th).
