F*cked Up On Christmas Plans

Canadian hardcore merchants Fucked Up have spoken about their all star version of festive classic 'Do They Know Its Christmas?'.

Christmas time brings with it the same old soundtrack every years, a mish-mash of Slade, Wizzard and lots more. However this year has seen a noble few fighting back against the tide of musical tinsel.

Slow Club are released a festive EP, while a new charity single brings together the talents of Los Campesinos!, Copy Haho and more.

Over in Canada, Fucked Up are doing their best to release some stunning music which embodies the spirit of Christmas. The band have recruited acts such as Bob Mould, Tegan And Sara, GZA and more to re-work the classic hit 'Do They Know Its Christmas?'.

Speaking to BBC 6Music singer Pink Eyes revealed that Fucked Up never planned for the single to become a big deal. "It went from being this little benefit record that we’d do and just donate the money, to snowballing to this big, weight of the world, atlas moment for me of trying to get this benefit record together" he exclaimed.

"It’s still being made as we speak, we’re still waiting for people. All those people have turned in their parts but we’re still waiting for others to come in, so hopefully there’ll be a few more surprises."

The single is due to be released as a download on December 1st, with Fucked Up planning to release a vinyl version in the New Year. "I am no Sir Bob Geldof so I cannot command people’s presence in the same way he does, so we had to go to them in a lot of cases but all these people have been really supportive" claimed Pink Eyes.

Fucked Up are set to release their version of 'Do They Know Its Christmas?' on December 1st. All profits will be donated to Sisters of Spirit and Justice for the Missing.
