Fatboy Slim For Oxjam Show

Editors, Basement Jaxx also set to play

Brighton based dance don Fatboy Slim is amongst the names announced for this year's instalment of Oxjam.

Founded in Oxford, Oxfam is one of the nation's biggest charities. Devoted to giving food and health care to some of the most impoverished areas of the planet, Oxfam recently launched a new musical campaign.

The annual Oxjam event has grown from a few tiny shows dotted across the country into a massive event in its own right. Returning for another instalment of musical fun, the charity has announced a series of secret shows containing star-studded bills.

Oxjam will launch with a special event at an Oxfam shop in London with a tiny 150 capacity. Taking place all through September and October the event will bring together new acts with heavyweight talent.

Fatboy Slim has agreed to play an Oxjam show, a world away from his record breaking Brighton beach parties. Last year the producer unveiled his new identity as Brighton Port Authority, but it seems that Fatboy Slim is still alive and kicking.

The DJ will rock the house in a tiny Oxfam shop, launching a series of shows that will contain guest slots from returning indie giants Editors and dance icons Basement Jaxx.

Newcomer VV Brown has been recruited, while world music legend and part-time The Good The Bad And The Queen drummer Tony Allen will also play. The shows will kick off thousands of fund raising events all across the country.

This year's event will finish with the Oxjam Takeover on October 25th, which will see more than 2000 musicians fill over 150 venues in more than 20 cities to raise funds for Oxfam.
