EXIT Festival Unveils Bill

Arctic Monkeys for Serbian event

Serbia's celebrated music festival EXIT has unveiled a stunning line up including the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Kraftwerk and much more.

EXIT festival began as a protest against the repression of Milosevic in Serbia. When freedom eventually came to the former Yugoslav republic, EXIT gained the ability to book many more foreign acts, swiftly becoming one of the most talked about events in Europe.

Held in the shadow of a medieval fortress, EXIT boasts a landscape unlike any other. Forget about the muddy slopes of Somerset, EXIT's breath-taking sunset parties are worth the price of entrance alone.

This year's headliners are returning indie giants Arctic Monkeys. Led by Alex Turner, the band recently recorded their third album with Josh Homme and previewed new material to fans in Australia at the recent Big Day Out event.

The group are due for a busy summer with performances also scheduled for Reading and Leeds, amongst others. Joining the Sheffield band on the bill are German electronic pioneers Kraftwerk.

The band recently partnered Radiohead on a tour of Central and South America, and have a hugely influential back catalogue to draw on. Kraftwerk are set to make a rare visit to EXIT this summer, and are also booked to perform at which uses lyrics left behind by former guitarist Richey Edwards. Also due to play on the bill are nutty ska legends Madness, chill out guru Moby and nu metal screamsters Korn.

In a new addition to proceedings, organisers have scheduled a series of DJ 'battles'. Amongst those taking part are Carl Cox, Richie Hawtin, Alex Metric and Kissy Sell Out - who recently spoke to Clash at Tignes.

EXIT festival takes place near Novi Sad, Serbia between July 10th - 12th.
