Esser Records With Mystery Jets
London acts team up
New songwriter Esser has revealed that he has teamed up with Eel Pie Island group Mystery Jets.
One of the buzz names for this year, former Ladyfuzz drummer Esser has spent years perfecting his craft. The singer has a new single due soon, but appears to be rather restless heading straight back into the studio with Mystery Jets.
In a new Myspace blog the singer says "before I get going on my way to Liverpool I just thought I'd let you know I've been in the studio with the Mystery Jets... and we've done a cover of a song which in some way is linked to Korn..."
Mystery Jets released their acclaimed album 'Twenty One' last year. Packed full of 80s pop influenced anthems, it spawned the single 'Tow Doors Down' which became a singalong favourite during the festival season.
Not that its done the group any good, however. Mystery Jets became one of the first acts to be axed in what could turn out to be a mass credit crunch inspired cull of indie acts, parting ways with label 679. Promising to stay together, the group appear to be working on new material. Let's hope they can go the same way as fellow 679 renegades, The Futureheads.
Esser releases new single 'Let's Work It Out' on February 23rd.
