Engineers Cancel UK Tour

London based celestial shoegazers Engineers have been forced to cancel all of the dates on their upcoming UK tour.

After almost a decade of spiky riffs it seems that a new breed of guitar groups have emerged who prefer rather more lush sounds.

Sure, mavericks such as M83 and Asobi Seksu have always harked back to the glory days of the shoegazing scene, but a new crop of acts have turned the sound of C86 into something uniquely modern.

Ever so slightly ahead of the pack, Engineers released their debut album in 2005. However internal problems and a lengthy dispute with their label meant that a potential follow up was shelved.

Finally returning this year with their new album 'Three Fact Fader' the band impressed after a lengthy hiatus. Snapped up by Sonic Cathedral, Engineers have been joined by a new breed of acts who worship at the throne of fuzzed up harmonies.

Due to finish 2009 with a lengthy UK tour, Engineers have now been forced to cancel all upcoming shows. Speaking in a statement the band said:

"It is with much disappointment that we have to announce the cancellation of all of our forthcoming gigs. Due to some unavoidable personal circumstances we cannot perform the gigs with our full line up and we feel that this would not do justice to our recorded work."

"Many apologies to those who have bought tickets and arranged transport and accommodation, and also to everyone involved in the organisation of them. We really appreciate your support and hope that you can obtain adequate refunds. There are no plans to reschedule the gigs at the present time."

Engineers are set to release their new single 'What Pushed Us Together' on November 23rd.
