Rapper Returns In 2009

Controversial American rapper Eminem has confirmed in a new interview that he is set to release his forthcoming new album 'Relapse' in the first months of 2009.

The Detroit rapper has been laying low since the release of his previous album 'Encore' in 2004. The artist suffered the murder of a close friend, which he claimed pushed him into depression. Eminem released his autobiography 'The Way I Am' earlier this year, which catapulted him back into public attention.

In an interview with MTV the star confirmed that all that remained to be completed for the album was the tracklisting.

"We're looking at first quarter next year (to release the album) which is probably, you know, January, February," he said. "Now we've just got to go through everything, pick the best ones and, you know, put it out."

The album is keenly anticipated by fans, with Eminem remaining one of the most potent figures in hip hop.

Eminem's new album 'Relapse' is set for release in early 2009.
