Eminem Comeback Performance

Rapper for MTV Movie Awards

Controversial American rap superstar Eminem has confirmed his first performance in years, with Slim Shady set to appear at the MTV Movie Awards.

Eminem last released an album in 2004, before entering a period of silence following the death of a close friend. Struggling with depression for some time, the rapper eventually found solace in writing and released his memoirs last year.

However what the world wants is an Eminem album, and the world will get one later this year. 'Relapse' was produced by long time collaborator Dr Dre and ends nearly five years of silence. The first single to be taken from the album will be the celebrity baiting 'We Made You' which features a hilarious, if offensive, video.

Eminem will perform the track at the forthcoming MTV Movie awards on May 31st, shortly after the release of 'Relapse'. Saturday Night Live star Andy Samberg is due to host the show, and so far Eminem is the only confirmed performer.

Strangely, if Eminem does perform 'We Made You' many of the people he lampoons in the song could well be in the audience. The song takes pops at Lindsay Lohan, Kim Kardashian, Britney Spears and Amy Winehouse amongst others.

The rapper recently made a rare appearance in public to induct Run DMC into the 'Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame'. Eminem paid an emotional tribute to the rap crew, who inspired him from an early age to pick up a microphone.

Fans eager to hear 'Relapse' have been left reeling by the suggestion that the rapper could release a total of two albums this year. Apparently sessions with Dr Dre went so well Eminem wants to release much more of what the duo recorded than can fit onto on album.

Eminem will perform at the MTV Movie Awards on May 31st.
