Elizabeth Fraser Contributes To BBC Score

Singer covers 'She Moves Through The Fair'...

A new recording by Elizabeth Fraser appears to have slipped out over the weekend.

The Cocteau Twins vocalist recently contributed to the score for Sky Arts drama The Nightmare Worlds Of H.G. Wells, working alongside husband Damon Reece.

Well, Elizabeth Fraser isn't set to stop there. New BBC drama The Living And The Dead is scored by Bristol duo The Insects – Tim Norfolk and Bob Locke – who have coaxed out a fresh vocal performance from the legendary singer.

The first episode aired last night (June 26th) and it contains a staggering version of the Irish folk song 'She Moves Through The Fair'.

The arrangement is sparse yet intense, with Elizabeth Fraser seeming to get close to the integral, un-knowable mystery of the song.

Graham Norton aired the track in full on his Radio 2 show while interviewing The Living And The Dead star Colin Morgan.

Find the show HERE – there's a full playback of 'She Moves Through The Fair' at the 1:44 mark.
