Eels To Release Stripped Down Album

'End Times' due for January release

Maverick American rock group Eels have stunned fans yet again by announcing details of their new album 'End Times'.

Eels are one of the most singular talents in American music. Led by Mark 'E' Everett the band have shifted through various line up changes but have always had E's acidic wit as the centre of its songcraft.

The band recently released their latest album 'Hombre Lobo' earlier this year. A spectacular return it took its name from the Spanish phrase for 'wolf man' and was a reference to the beard E grew during recording.

Since then, Eels have played several tour dates and released some fairly successful singles. In the video to 'The Look You Give That Guy' E was joined by Padma Lackshmi - who promptly fell pregnant.

Coincidence? Some would say no...

Now the band have stunned fans by announcing details of a new stripped down album. 'End Times' is due for release in January, and features material largely recorded in Mark Everett's basement studio.

Coming just six months after the release of 'Hombre Lobo' this is the shortest gap between albums in the history of the group. By way of comparison, long suffering fans of Eels were forced to wait four years for the successor to 'Blinking Lights And Other Revelations'.

Featuring some fourteen tracks, more details on the tracklisting of 'End Times' are due to be announced shortly.

Eels are set to release their new album 'End Times' on January 18th.
