Duffy Signs Diet Coke Deal

Singer In Six-Figure Deal

Welsh soul wonder Duffy is set to end the year on a high after reportedly signing a massive advertising deal with Diet Coke.

Duffy has been one of the year's biggest breakthrough stars, with her debut album 'Rockferry' among 2008's biggest sellers. Containing the massive Northern Soul-influenced single, 'Mercy', the album gained plaudits due to its mature songwriting style, in part a result of sessions with former Suede guitarist Bernard Butler.

The singer has apparently been chosen by Diet Coke in order to present a different image of the product. According to reports, the drinks manufacturer aims to distance itself from “stick-thin models and chiselled hunks”.

A source from the company revealed in British red top The Sun that they were fans of her “raw and edgy character”.

“We’re delighted Duffy’s on board. She’s ideal to reach our target audience in the teen and twenties age ranges,” a source added.

On a NO SUGAR high? Surely

On a NO SUGAR high?

Surely she should be promoting fictional booze Duff? Although that would necessitate the redundancy of Duffman.

I am sure there's plenty Duffman could say about that:
