Duffy

One of the music sensations of the year, Duffy's debut album "Rockferry" has sold by the bucketload - but in a new interview the Welsh star has revealed that it was recorded on a shoestring.

Produced by ex-Suede guitar slinger Bernard Butler, the album has been one of the year's most successful releases selling over three million albums worldwide. Recorded over a four year period, the one time Welsh 'X Factor' contestant took her time delivering the album. Using small, cheap studios, the singer pieced together her album over a long period of time.

In a new interview with the Daily Star, Duffy claims that "when I was writing I never knew what my fate was. Neither did Bernard Butler or my manager Jeanette." She added "nobody ever gave Bernard any money to work with me. It was all done on a shoestring."

Duffy's new single "Stepping Stone" was released on Monday (September 1st).
