Ducktails’ Matt Mondanile Accused Of Multiple Sexual Assaults

New reports emerge about the American artist...

Ducktails songwriter Matt Mondanile has been accused of sexual misconduct by multiple women.

The American artist left Real Estate in 2015, ostensibly to pursue his solo endeavours under the name Ducktails.

Last week, however, Real Estate issued a new statement, claiming he “was fired in February 2016 when allegations of unacceptable treatment of women were brought to our attention.”

Now SPIN reports that multiple women have come forward to allege sexual misconduct and sexual assault committed by the indie rock figure.

Pitchfork have since spoke to three of these women, who each produce extremely damning testimony about the songwriter's actions.

Real Estate have released a further statement: “At the time of Matt’s dismissal from the band, the women we had spoken with requested privacy and we honored their wishes. We remain in complete support of the affected women, and will continue to stand by any decisions they make regarding the further pursuit of this matter.”

Ducktails were due to play sets in the Phillippines and Thailand, before returning to the United States for a show in North Carolina – these shows have now been cancelled.
