Drake Brings Out Skepta At Wireless

Drizzy loves the UK...

Drake has always been careful to rep the UK.

Due to play Wireless in 2014 the rapper pulled out during illness. Finally making his Wireless stand last night (July 3rd) the Canadian artist pulled out all the stops.

Labelling London his “second home” Drake performed in front of a Union Flag montage. Drawing on the full force of his catalogue, the rapper even donned a Boy Better Know t-shirt.

Inviting Skepta out onstage, Drake said simply: "Man's never been in Finsbury when it's shutdown…"

The two then blazed through Skepta's 'Shutdown' to the clear delight of the Finsbury Park crowd.

Though some aspects of North America's current grime love affair feel tokenistic, Drake has always been a fan – even referencing Skepta's 'That's Not Me' during his verse on Lil B's 'Used To' mixtape.

No doubt fans will debate the merits and full significance of the collaboration, but one thing's for sure – everyone in Finsbury Park came away satisfied.
