Douglas Dare is set to release his debut EP 'Seven Hours' through Erased Tapes on September 30th.
Erased Tapes is a label with a close, communal feel, one which thrives on collaboration and a shared vision of what music can accomplish. So when the label decide to make a new signing, it's done with no small measure of thought and deliberation.
A London based songwriter, Douglas Dare is the latest artist to join the imprint. Toasting his arrival with a new EP, 'Seven Hours' is set to be available from September 30th.
Recorded in a variety of locations, 'Seven Hours' was laid down onto cassette rendering each track with an intimate atmosphere. Beginning as poetry, an arrangement was worked up for each piece with Douglas Dare crossing between both disciplines.
"I'm incredibly proud of this EP" he said. "I feel the songs have been captured in just the right way and I hope that, if only for 15 minutes, listeners will be able to escape; if they do, then I have done my job. It's a real thrill to be working with Erased Tapes, a label whose artists have inspired me from the beginning and whose ethos I share wholeheartedly. This is an exciting time to join the family and I'm truly privileged to be a part of it."
