Doherty Goes Back To Roots
Singer plays intimate solo shows
Iconic wastrel Pete Doherty has gone back to his roots, playing a three night solo residency at London's Rhythm Factory venue - scene of those famous early Libertines shows.
With a solo album due for release shortly, Doherty has been busy playing a series of exciting shows in the capital. Returning to the house party scene, the Babyshambles singer has been playing tracks from across his career seemingly at ease with The Libertines' legacy.
The three night residency in the Rhythm Factory featured a host of guest stars, but Doherty decided to fly solo on the third night. Playing a set that stretched across his career, it also included some carefully chosen covers. Oasis' classic track 'Hello' was given an acoustic makeover, while Doherty also played The Who's 'Quadrophrenia' track 'Love Reign O'er Me'.
The biggest cheers of the night were reserved for The Libertines' 'Up The Bracket' and the Babyshambles' single 'Fuck Forever'.
