Cut 'n' paste maverick DJ Yoda is set to release his new album 'Chop Suey' on November 5th.

DJ Yoda is many things. A maverick, a personality, an exquisite turntablist... but a songwriter? Nah, we couldn't imagine the vinyl virtuoso entertaining crowds at an open mic night, that's for sure.

Yet on his new album DJ Yoda comes closer than ever to what you might call standard songwriting. 'Chop Suey' is set to be released on November 5th, and ClashMusic have been handed the video for lead cut 'Big Trouble In Little China'.

The producer's cut 'n' paste template is still there, but with Alice Russell and Action Bronson on hand DJ Yoda moves somewhere different entirely. The Brooklyn chef turned rapper adds some deft rhymes, while the soulful Brit covers the track in a touch of class.

DJ Yoda recently opened up about the collaboration. “After he’d been spitting his lyrics over a loop it sounded like a classic Wu Tang track but I wanted more, a melody, a hook, a proper singer, so that was my first ever bit of songwriting.”
