Rapper denies slating Bow

Chart mangling UK rapper Dizzee Rascal has spoken out after comments attributed to him appeared to slate hometown Bow, in London.

Dizzee Rascal has had a stunning summer. Blasting into the charts with 'Bonkers' the newly independent star has joined up with a series of dance producers to blend his frenetic rapping with storming electro house.

Calvin Harris, Armen Van Helden and more have all fallen to his seductive charms. With his new album 'Tongue N Cheek' threatening to rip up chart records Dizzee Rascal has been on fighting form recently.

Speaking to Clash Magazine Dizzee Rascal explained his chart smashing activities by saying "I get pop music now". To read more click HERE!

However an interview with The Sun has caused controversy, after the rapper seemed to slate his hometown of Bow, in London. Fiercely protective of his roots, Dizzee Rascal has since denied criticising the town.

Speaking to the NME the rapper said: "I said something in The Sun and thelondonpaper took it up, about Bow being a hole and all that – whatever, everybody knows that for years I've represented Bow E3 that's where I was raised," he explained.

"I'm not gonna lie; I don't always like everything about Bow and I don't always like everyone in Bow and they don't always like me but on the whole I love where I come from. I'm proud of where I come from and I'm proud to represent that area."

Dizzee Rascal has been busy of late launching a special edition pair of Nike trainers. The rapper's new album 'Tongue N Cheek' was released last week (September 21st) and entered the charts at number three, behind Madonna and Muse.
