Dizzee / Calvin Harris Collaboration

Duo to team up for another single

UK hip hop star Dizzee Rascal has confirmed that his next project will be a single with Scottish dance producer Calvin Harris.

Dizzee Rascal is one of the most potent hip hop talents working in Britain today. Gleefully skipping between genres, his beats can move from straight up funky to something approaching old skool rave.

Recent single 'Bonkers' is a case in point. Rascal struts and pouts his way through the track, with collaborator Armand Van Helden producing waves of synth euphoria beneath the hip hop star's rhymes.

Currently sitting at number one in the charts, 'Bonkers' has become one of the biggest hits of the summer so far. Of course, Dizzee Rascal is no stranger to racing up the charts the minute the sun comes out, crafting one of last year's biggest festival anthems in the form of 'Dance Wiv Me'.

Created with Scottish dance guru Calvin Harris, the track soared to number one where it stayed for week on week. Now it seems that twin talents are due to collaborate on another track, which is set to be released later in the year.

Named 'Holiday' Dizzee Rascal confirmed news of the team up to BBC Newsbeat. Speaking to the broadcaster, the rap icon revealed that his forthcoming album 'Tongue N Cheek' will be released this September.

"Tongue N Cheek is me being a bit cheeky, the theme of it is naughty but nice. Just celebrating the good things in life" he said.

Dizzee Rascal is due to play a number of festivals this year. The rapper is set to travel up to the Scottish Highlands soon to perform at RockNess alongside a stunning line up including Flaming Lips, The Prodigy and many more.

However perhaps the jewel in the crown for the rapper is an upcoming performance at Glastonbury where the 'Bonkers' star will be joined by the likes of Bruce Springsteen and Neil Young.

Speaking to the BBC Dizzee Rascal claimed that "it means a lot, I've been on the main stage before with Arctic Monkeys.

"I'm doing the main stage on my own now. Seeing 80,000 laid out in front of you, that's amazing."

Dizzee Rascal is set to release his new album 'Tongue N Cheek' in September.
