Glastonbury has a reputation for grabbing big names act, artists whose fame extends far beyond these isles.
But they also like to throw a few curveballs in, too. Much rumoured, Dolly Parton recently confirmed her involved, with the country icon telling fans via Twitter: "I’m incredibly excited to FINALLY announce that the #BlueSmokeWorldTour is coming to @GlastoFest on June 29th!"
It's a surprise move, but one in keeping with past traditions: the likes of Johnny Cash and Neil Diamond also played sets at Glastonbury, helping to prompt a re-assessment of their work from a younger audience.
Elsewhere, Michael Eavis has confirmed that Disclosure will play a "big slot" at Glastonbury. Speaking at last night's NME Awards ceremony, the festival guru said: "We can say that they’ll be back, which is brilliant for us because they had an amazing year last year and they are one of the greatest British acts at the moment... So that’s exciting too, so you can see them in a big slot. Somewhere."
One more time... here's 'White Noise'.
Glastonbury runs between June 25th - 29th.
