Detroit Social Club UK Tour

Newcastle newcomers hit the road

Fast rising Newcastle newcomers Detroit Social Club are set to hit the road, confirming a number of UK tour dates.

Geordies do things their own way. Ferociously independent, the independent state of Newcastle tends to throw up unique talents (look away, Cheryl Cole) with indie newcomers Detroit Social Club the pick of the current crop.

Together for around two years now, Detroit Social Club explore the hitherto undiscovered link between indie rock and old school hip hop. Playing shows across the country the band have gathered a cult following.

Snapped up by Fiction Records, the group's debut single 'Rivers And Rainbows' was an outlandish blast of songwriting. Grabbing the attention of Manchester giants Oasis the newcomers supported their heroes, before knuckling down to writing their debut album.

Spending much of the second half of 2009 in the studio, Detroit Social Club should be ready to release their debut album next year. Always eager to experiment, it has become almost impossible to predict what the record will sound like.

Now the six piece have confirmed a series of British dates for November before they hit the road properly in December.

Opening with a show in Liverpool on November 14th the band will then tour throughout the UK including a hometown show in Newcastle.

Finishing with a gig in Manchester's Ruby Lounge on December 19th the jaunt will see Detroit Social Club unveil tracks from their soon to be released debut album.

Detroit Social Club have confirmed the following shows:

November
14 Liverpool The Msaque

December
10 High Wycombe Bucks University Student Union
11 Birmingham The Rainbow
17 Newcastle World Headquarters
18 Stockton Ku Bar
19 Manchester Ruby Lounge
