Deftones To Play London
Latest on hardcore outfit
Sacramento hardcore heroes Deftones are set to return to the UK this summer, playing a rare UK show in London this August.
The five-piece have been gearing up for the release of their sixth album ‘Eros’, following the tragic news that long-term bassist Chi Cheng was involved in a car accident last November, which has left him in a coma.
The album had originally been set for release early in the year, however Cheng’s condition has now led to former Quicksand bassist Sergio Vega filling the role on a temporary basis, with Deftones recently stating on internet radio show ‘Loveline’ they expected ‘Eros’ to be released in October.
Fans were eager to respond to the tragedy, immediately pouring messages of support onto the band’s myspace via get well cards.
Animal rights organisation PETA have now also shown their support, and from 29th May onwards will donate 20% of all proceeds of a t-shirt designed by the bassist to the One Love for Chi Foundation, after he designed the “Happy Families Not Happy Meals” range for the charity.
As well as returning for this year’s Reading And Leeds Festivals (more on this festival HERE) Deftones will then play the London HMV Forum on the 28th August, tickets available below.
