Death Cab Enter Youtube Row

Warners pull all videos

Seattle based group Death Cab For Cutie have entered the simmering row between Warner Brothers and Youtube.

The website hosts video and audio footage uploaded by fans. Major labels have been frustrated for some time, as their content regularly appears on the site's pages.

US company Warner Brothers recently pulled all of their content from Youtube, citing a breach of copyright as the reason. With that case yet to be settled, all of the videos are currently idle.

Death Cab For Cutie recently discovered that they had been dragged into the row. The band were using Youtube embed codes to host their videos on the group's official site, and these were removed when Warner Brothers commenced its cull.

A new statement from the band explains the problems:

"The removal of our videos caught us by surprise but we are building a new video player so that we can get these videos back up on the website as soon as possible. Thanks for understanding and for being patient while we sort everything out."
