Dead Weather Video Premieres

American supergroup The Dead Weather are set to premiere the ground-breaking short film to their recent single 'Treat Me Like Your Mother'.

Unveiled at a special ceremony in Nashville, The Dead Weather are one of the year's most talked about new groups. Starring Jack White and members of The Kills, The Greenhornes and Queens Of The Stone Age, the band are currently gearing up for the release of their debut album.

Produced by Jack White, the band's debut album 'Horehound' is set for release later this year. In the new issue of Clash Magazine the guitarist speaks exclusively about the making of the new album, revealing some intimate secrets behind the much discussed release.

For fans, however, little has been heard of the band's new material. Debut single 'Treat Me Like Your Mother' was a limited edition vinyl only release that sold out almost instantly. A synth driven rocker, it was backed by an unusual Gary Numan cover.

The Dead Weather breezed into Britain recently. Performing a secret show as part of Nigel Godrich's 'From The Basement' series, the band then went on to perform an intimate show in London before heading out on a wider tour.

Due to play a variety of festival slots this summer, The Dead Weather were late additions to the Glastonbury line up. The band stole the show with a stunning set, barely speaking to fans between songs.

To mark the release of their debut single the band commissioned a new short film from Jonathan Glazer. An award winning director, Glazer's credits range from the feature film 'Sexy Beast' to making music videos for Radiohead.

"It was overwhelmingly electric working with Jonathan Glazer on this project, which feels more short film than video," said Jack White in a statement. "I've never felt an intensity like I did on the set of this shoot. Absolutely violent, explosive, and poetic."

In return Glazer said "theirs was a beautiful energy to tap in to. You can't ask for anything more."

The Dead Weather will premiere the Jonathan Glazer directed video to 'Treat Me Like Your Mother' through Channel 4 on July 13th at 12-10AM.
