Jack White & Co. get busy

One of the year's most exciting rock projects The Dead Weather are set to release their debut album 'Horehound' soon.

Perhaps the music industry's best kept secret, The Dead Weather were unveiled in a ceremony at Jack White's Third Man record label offices in Nashville earlier this year. Containing members of The Greenhornes and with The Kills' Alison Mosshart on vocals, this is truly an all star collaboration.

Of course, Jack White already has one supergroup up his sleeve. The Raconteurs released their stunning second album 'Consolers Of The Lonely' last year, and toured the world to support it.

Never one to stand still, White formed his new group late last year and they have already recorded their debut album. The Dead Weather released their first single recently, a pairing of original 'Hang You From The Heavens' coupled with a cover of Gary Numan's 'Are Friends Electric?'.

Much more synth driven than previous projects, the group are also boosted by a one time Queens Of The Stone Age member on bass giving them a hard, rockier edge. Recalling White material from the past is a given, but there seems to be something quite different about his approach to The Dead Weather.

The band's self-produced debut album 'Horehound' is set for release in Britain on July 13th. Recorded in White's own studio the record will be released through Third Man Records - keeping things close to home there Jack!

The Dead Weather have also confirmed their first ever European shows in London and Paris. To date, the band have only played one official show in New York but are allegedly in the process of organising a world tour.

Of course, this isn't the only project Jack White is working on - he's got a rockabilly seven inch and possibly a new White Stripes album to be getting on with!
